World Champs Selection 2011
Well despite the Qld wild weather & flooding in Dalby, the Nationals have been held for Pylon, even though it was a day late.
The fact that it was able to be held at all was a credit to the Dalby Club. Just days before the event, there was water approximately 500mm deep right across the field. The club has built a world class Pylon course which will see many more events held there in the future, should the club wish to do so.
The field for the event was down as a result of the weather however, those who seriously wanted to make the Australian Team were there and ready to race. Due to the delay in starting a day late, & some pilots having flights booked to fly out of Brisbane on Friday afternoon the competition was limited to 5 rounds which were hotly contested by all in attendance.
On behalf of all AMPRA Members, I would like to congratulate the following members & their callers who have won a place on the Australian Team for the 2011 World F3D Championships, to be held in Bundaberg in August.
Christopher Callow & Kevin Callow
Beau Murphy & Barry Murphy &
Leigh Hocken & Frank Cassella
The Reserve for the team will be Nathan Nichols.
The scores for the selection events are shown below. I would like to thank all members who competed for a place on the Australian team, which are much coveted. Those who missed out on selection this time will no doubt be contesting the next series of selection events for the 2013 Championships in Sweeden.

Junior World Championship.
Subject to confirmation by CIAM, there will be a Junior World Championship held at Bundaberg for the first time. This means that we need to conduct a selection event for juniors who wish to contest the position on the Australian team. A junior is anyone who will be 18years old or younger, in the year of the contest. Apart from the juniors currently competing in Qld, could anyone who knows of any other junior please advise me of their interest in competing for the Juniors position on the Australian team. The date of the selection event will be advised as soon as possible.
